But preparing for college classes isn't all about midnight study sessions or mainlining Red Bull; getting energized in the morning can be the difference between a pass and a fail when it comes to early morning classes. Prepare for college classes using these tips, and you'll be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed no matter how early that Monday morning class is:

Late nights (spent working or having fun) mean that we don't usually have time for a 30-minute exercise routine to get our blood flowing in the mornings. Luckily, it's easy to do a handful of squats while your coffee is boiling. Crunches, push-ups, jumping jacks, and squats are all great for waking up, and a good cycle of any of them (10 to 20 repetitions) will take only about five minutes.

The right person will talk your ear off about the benefits of breakfast, and they won't be wrong. Breakfast is not only a great option for folks watching their weight (it keeps you from binge eating later on in the day), it's also necessary fuel for your brain. If you prepare for college classes without eating breakfast, you're missing out. Even a good old Pop-Tart is better than nothing, but if you're really looking for a boost, munch on an apple. Apples contain a bunch of slow-release natural sugars and vitamins that help wake you up and keep you awake. Add some cheddar cheese and a handful of nuts to that apple, and you have a well-rounded morning meal.

Deep Breathing and Aromatherapy
Deep breathing is a great way to wake up your brain. Technically known as diaphragmatic breathing, this technique involves breathing using your diaphragm. If you're doing it right, your stomach should rise and fall with each breath, as opposed to your chest. Ten deep breaths done in this manner help rev up your brain.

Add essential oils to the mix, and you'll leave your room invigorated. Peppermint and rosemary are great alertness oils. No need for fancy diffusers: dab a bit of the oil onto a cotton ball and set it nearby while you eat. You can also apply essential oils to your skin, but inhalation generally works faster than topical application.
